Western Stars Gallery Has Aged Well Like A Fine Wine

Three years have zoomed by. In the course of those 1095 days, Western Stars Gallery has come to know so many people. Whether first timers to Lyons, Colorado - or from afar, slightly nervous new artists showing their work - hoping to be represented by a gallery for the first time, returning visitors with friends and family from the Denver area, or Lyons residents who only just recently ventured through the gallery’s doors and were pleasantly pleased at our eclectic offerings - Chrystal DeCoster and Betsy Hubner, proprietors of Western Stars, have embraced them all.

You see, we are very proud to represent our over 160 different artists and consignors.

We opened our doors after the flood and because of the flood - to put money in the pockets of artists.

Our consignment rate is higher than many like-shops, we strive to be honest with consignors as to what is apt to sell, provide high quality offerings at a fair value, and through an ever-changing curation process our store is kept fresh and aesthetically interesting. Having something for all ages and wages is another aspect we pride ourselves in.

The holiday season allows you to visit our gift shop over and over again. We are stocking up with new inventory almost daily, and it is the varied gallery experience that enthralls our regular customers. This season, we are launching our 24 day countdown to Christmas; we will have 20% off of pre-announced select items for each of those 24 days. Hop on over to Western Stars Gallery & Studio Facebook page to see what featured items are discounted on which days. As you rally your way up Highway 36 to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, please stop in - buy a gift for those you love, invest in some fine or just stop in and say “Hello."

Up until noon on December 20th, Western Stars will be accepting donations for The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless at 4869 N. Broadway. The shelter is in need of gifts that bring added relief from the challenges and social indignities that many clients struggle with on a daily basis, including personal care items for regaining and maintaining dignity en route to discovering an independent and productive life/employment. Items most needed include: travel-sized toiletries; reading glasses; earplugs; common over the counter medications (without alcohol) and vitamins; first aid items; new hats, gloves, socks, and hand warmers; bath towels and wash cloths; twin-size cotton blankets; and RTD bus tickets, passes, tokens. The gallery will deliver all donations collected in Lyons on the morning of Friday December 21.

Currently open daily 11-6 through Christmas Eve, Western Stars will be closed Christmas and New Year’s day and will close early on Christmas and New Years eves. For questions regarding consigning art, photography, woodworking or other handmade creations, antiques, our estate appraisal services, community use of our space, custom arts-centric celebrations - please call 303-747-3818 or email us at info@westernstarsgallerystudio.com.

Remember, if you have not graced our doors as of yet, Western Stars is not just Western, beyond a gallery and more than a gift shop. Stop by and tell us what you think!
